What is Shiva Linga? The real meaning of Shiva's Linga symbol

SHIV LINGA MEANS......

What is Shiva Linga? The real meaning of Shiva's Linga symbol.............................................................

some fools try things "linga" to be penis and spread rumours about hindus that they worship penis, but that not true!!! in sanskrit, shisna-penis & linga- shapeless, without organs, long drum like etc..................... shiva being worshipped as linga means the consciousness in it's primordial form, where consciousness is entering in to the eternal energy i.e shakti thus shiva linga is the state of god, just before the manifestation of the universe lord shiva is worshipped as linga because that the highest of all manifested gods, formless attribute less.
-------------------------------------
Linga actually represents spirit in matter without which there is no matter and no manifestation. 'Mula Prakriti' that is nature of manifestation is built around the fundamental spirit as dynamic aspect of the stillness of the Linga.

Why shouldn't we put Shiva linga at home?
When it comes to Lord Shiva, we need to offer regular puja. If we are capable of offering regular puja, then only we can put Shiva linga at home. We need to offer "Abhishekam" at appropriate time, offer 'naivedam' (fruits, flowers, food items etc) regularly. Offering sincerely with devotion has become a nightmare during this competitive lives.

Where we are unable to offer regular puja and become victim of Lord Shiva's angry, it is better to give away Shiva linga at nearby temple. If you want to offer any particular ritual then you can do it at nearby temple where you will be guided with the temple Brahmin/ scholar in performing sacred puja, homam and chanting mantras. So avoid putting Shiva Linga at home
